About life in Hurghada
Language... Official language is Arabic, although, almost everywhere people
understand and speak English, Russian, French, German languages.
Currency... Egyptian pound.

Education. In Egypt there are international pre-school establishments the
general education international schools of the high level, where teaching staff
is from different countries. Teaching in international establishments is conducted
on English, Arabic and Russian languages. Price of instruction is approximately
6 thousand Egyptian pounds per year.

of local residents toward foreigners. In Egypt there are a lot of international

Banks
Most of the bigger hotels offer their own banks services. Thomas Cook branches:
Sekala square and main roads downtown or south of Sekala. Public Banks are
open from 8:30 - 2:00 pm. On Fridays and Saturdays they are closed.
Bowling
Ebb & Tide close to Sindbad Beach Resort (they don’t serve alcohol)
Bus Stations
There are two main buses stations, both are between Sekala and downtown, Upper
Egypt, Super Jet , High Jet and El Gouna Transportation are the most common
bus companies with daily schedules to Cairo and Luxor and even Aswan. Tickets
are available directly at the bus station. They are about 60 L.E per person
for single trip which take about 5-6 hours ( Aswan takes 8-10 hrs.)
Car Rental
There are several car rental companies in town. You need international driving
license plus your passport. A credit card for deposit might be helpful.

Coffee Shops
Taste traditional shisha (waterpipe), have a shai (tea) and get the taste original
life. In most places game such as backgammon or domino are available.
Duty Free Shops
At the airport in Sekala, and in south of Seklla between Giftun and Grand Hotel.
Alcohol can only be purchased within 24hrs after arrival.. Wide variety.

Speed Ferry
Hurghada-Sharm El Sheikh in two hours. For reservation please ask your tour
leader or receptionist. For this trip u need to take your passport.
Telephone Calls
International phone calls available from your hotel room. To save some money
get get a phone card from central. Some supermarkets offer phone cards for
the phone booths on streets.
Transportation
The common way to travel in town is the local minibus (overage 1 L.E per trip,
they stop on Demand). Taxis are available as well (ask for extra fare and
expect a high prise before bargaining.
